The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre has performed the music of Les contes d’Hoffmann many times. In 1946, conductor Evgeny Akulov and director Pavel Markov staged a performance based on Offenbach’s opera and named it The Poet’s Love. In 1959, Komische Oper Berlin brought their version of Les contes d’Hoffmann on tour.
In 1987, the performance of the Sverdlovsk Opera Theater (now the Ural Opera Ballet) Les contes d’Hoffmann was shown on the stage of the Music Theater. Conductor Evgeny Brazhnik, director Alexander Titel and artist Valery Leventhal created the performance.
