Winter Evening in Chamonix

During the centenary history of the Musical Theatre. Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko, operetta always sounded under its vaults. She is in our genes. Even before the studios of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko moved into Bolshaya Dmitrovka, 17, the famous Operetta Theater in Moscow, headed by the brilliant Grigory Yaron, worked here. Historically, the first performance of the Musical Theater was Lecoq’s operetta Ango’s Daughter staged by Nemirovich-Danchenko. And Stanislavsky, whom we imagine as a gray-haired sage, in his youth participated in the operettas and vaudevilles of the Alekseevsky Circle.

The musical score of the performance “A Winter Evening in Chamonix” is assembled from the works of the most famous authors of operettas of the 19th and 20th centuries: Jacques Offenbach, Charles Lecoq, Imre Kalman, Franz Lehár, Johann Strauss, Franz von Suppe, Karl Millöcker, Rudolf Friml, Niko Dostal, Nikolai Strelnikov, Pala Abraham – all those who are called classics of the genre. The action takes place in a trendy ski resort where guests fall in love, dance and sing.
